Burnt Forest Reborn- Collection 2024

In 2024 the world lost 38.3 million hectares due to wildfires.
This collection aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and highlight the devastation caused by wildfires due to climate change.
Handmade ceramics are informed from shapes and textures found in nature. Focusing on the Raku glazing method captures the strength and resilience of nature.
Glazes are applied as gestural marks creating movement and energy translating as regrowth against great odds.
These ceramic vessels are fired several times to create variation and depth in colour and tone. Glazes and oxides are layered resulting in tactile textures making each vessel a one-off piece of art.
